Depression Bombardment Problems Kodak C663

Kodak C663
NiMH batteries

Recently I have had battery related problems with the photographic camera. The low battery light comes on fifty-fifty though my battery tester shows the batteries to be full up. Often when I plow the camera on, information technology simply shuts itself off once more. I put in the spare fully charged batteries that I always have with me. The camera tells me date and time have been reset. Sigh. I accept to waste product time re-inbound the engagement and fourth dimension. Shouldn't the camera exist able to store that data? I believe it used to before I started having low-battery problems. After reseting the date/time I ordinarily can take a series of photos, though not nearly as many as the 200 reported by others to this forum. Of course, the children I hoped to photograph have left past this fourth dimension.

I contacted Kodak customer service electronic mail about the trouble. They told me the reset engagement/time will come on if my batteries were extremely low or expressionless. But I can insert fresh batteries, do the engagement/fourth dimension thing, then take the fresh batteries back out and re-insert. Again I take to reset appointment/time although the batteries are fresh. They offered no help as to why I have depression battery problems with fresh batteries. I use 2300 NiMH re-chargeable batteries.

I e'er use the optical view finder and have the LCD turned off to save bombardment life. I have very few flash pictures.

Anyone having similar problems?

I'm no expert but what you are experiencing certainly sounds like a fault.

Re: Depression Battery Problems Kodak C663

Eva:

At that place might be two causes for your problem.

1) Bad or onetime batteries that no longer hold a accuse
2) Bad charger.

Proceed in listen that current rechargeable batteries volition lose their battery power/charge later weeks/months. My proposition is to go to your local excursion city and purchase a set of "Sanyo Enelopes". These new type of batteries volition hold their charger longer than anything out in that location. I have them for my work's CX7330. Left unused for 2-iii month, the battery is still belongings their charge without the low bombardment indicator coming up.

The Sanyo enelopes volition accuse with a normal battery charger.

Yes, Pattisboy, I'grand the same person who got wonderful help from Mike. And you lot may be right, the camera may be wearing out. I just don't know what to replace it with. I don't want a DSLR (too expensive and too big). I've been very pleased with the photos I go with the C663 and am sort of hoping there's a reset prepare or re-installation of firmware. Client service at Kodak was not very encouraging. Of grade, they adopt you lot buy a new camera.

Re: Depression Battery Problems Kodak C663

George, what you say about batteries losing their charge in weeks/months is true. But I check the charge on the batteries with a tester and they are fully charged when I put them in the camera and however the camera doesn't seem to know that they are. I did try using brand new batteries freshly charged and had the same problems.

The Sanyo Eneloops audio interesting. I'll get some and try them.
Cheers for your help.

Re: Low Battery Bug Kodak C663

I had a CX7330 that started doing that aforementioned thing. In my case it was definitely a trouble with the camera since I was able to prove that the batteries were fine. I was never able to figure out what the problem was. The camera was well past its warranty period and then I ended up just getting a new ane.

If your photographic camera is less than one year erstwhile then its however under warranty and Kodak should fix information technology for free. If its older than one year then its probably more toll effective to buy a new one then trying to set up that one. A refurbished C663 is $107 on the Kodak web site.

Good luck

Hi Eva:

If you are sure that the batteries and charger are both good, I would say the problem is with the photographic camera.

I've had problems with the low battery symbol popping up on several of my Kodak cameras. As I narrow down the trouble, they seem to be with my batteries. I just ordered a set of Enelopes from Amazon.com yesterady. 8 for $nineteen.99. I went into circuit city and they were selling ii of the enelopes with a charger for $xiv.99. I already have iii chargers so I ordered via Amazon.

Here'due south a link if you need it.
